- This is yet another distinct step in our ambition of expanding our offering of rental apartments in the Stockholm region. In partnership with Niam, we are developing highly sought-after homes centrally situated and close to public transportation in Skogås. Our goal is to develop sustainable, vibrant neighbourhoods with good access to public transportation, services, and nature – places where people can live and feel happy over time,” says Björn Bergman, Regional Manager Stockholm at Bonava Sweden.
The project comprises 109 well-planned rental apartments that will achieve an energy efficiency rating of B and be certified under Nordic Swan Ecolabel Generation 4. The homes will be separated into two multi-family housing units, with parking garages underneath and a shared inner courtyard, and will be located approximately 500 metres from the Skogås commuter rail station, a 20-minute journey to Stockholm Central station.
This transaction is aligned with Bonava’s strategy of increasing its share of rental apartment projects, and is expected to generate positive ongoing cash flows from the start. Prior to the summer, Bonava completed two strategic land acquisitions in the Stockholm region encompassing a total of 600 housing units, one of which was in Skogås. The intent is to develop rental apartments and commence construction within 12 months. The first of these acquisitions is now being converted into a rental apartment project.
Production is scheduled to start in the spring of 2027, and the project will subsequently be recognised as sold and started in Bonava’s financial reporting. Completion of the housing units is scheduled for 2028.
