Sustainability agenda
How we govern our sustainability work
Bonava’s sustainability agenda guides how we develop our operations and create long-term value for customers, society and our business. The agenda is based on our most material sustainability matters and forms part of our strategy, governance and follow-up.
Our work is guided by our purpose – to create happy neighbourhoods for the many – and is structured around three focus areas:
Environmental care in everything we do – we reduce our climate impact and use resources responsibly throughout the value chain
People at the centre – we create safe, inclusive workplaces and develop sustainable neighbourhoods
Effective governance – we ensure responsible governance, risk management and business ethics
Together, these areas contribute to our strategic objectives, including profitability, customer satisfaction, climate action and employee engagement. Combat climate change
We work to reduce our climate impact in line with science-based targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), with the ambition of helping to limit global warming to 1.5°C. By 2030, we will reduce emissions from our own operations (Scopes 1–2) by 42 per cent, upstream emissions from new construction by 40.8 per cent per m², and downstream emissions from sold homes by 51.6 per cent per m².
Engaged employees
We strive to be an attractive employer with a high level of employee engagement. Our objective is to reach a level corresponding to the top 10 per cent of companies in the Brilliant Futures benchmark, with an engagement index of 89 by 2026. To achieve this, we develop leadership, strengthen our learning culture and further enhance our employer offering, including our employee value proposition and employer branding activities.
Health and safety
A safe and healthy working environment is a central part of our operations. We work systematically with local action plans and aim to complete at least 90 per cent of planned measures. At the same time, we work to reduce incidents and accidents to ensure a safe workplace across all parts of the business.
