Markus Halkola appointed Business Unit President for Bonava Finland

Markus Halkola has been appointed new Business Unit President for Bonava Finland and assumes the role today.

As the market gradually moves towards recovery, we are entering a new phase that calls for a different leadership profile. Markus Halkola knows our business and the Finnish market well, and I am confident that he is ready to take on this broader responsibility, says Peter Wallin, President and CEO of Bonava AB.

Markus Halkola is currently Regional Manager for Helsinki and has held various managerial positions with Bonava Finland since 2021. He holds a master’s degree in construction management and economics as well as an Executive MBA in finance. Markus Halkola has solid experience in construction and residential development including positions at Taaleri and Peab.

Markus Halkola will report to CEO Peter Wallin and assumes this role as Business Unit President effective 26th October 2026. To fully focus on the needs and priorities of the Finnish business, he will not join the Executive Management Group.

After five years as BU President for Finland, Riku Patokoski leaves Bonava.
